From Transmission of Knowledge to Moral Awareness: Student and Parent Views on Peer Bullying within the Framework of the Harezmi Education Model

The aim of this study is to determine the views of sixth-grade middle school students and their parents regarding peer bullying awareness activities conducted within the Hârezmî educational model. Designed as a qualitative study, it aims to reveal participants’ experiences related to the implementation process. The study group consists of 30 students and 25 parents who participated in the Hârezmî educational model during the 2024–2025 academic year. During the implementation, students took part in interdisciplinary activities on peer bullying, empathy, group work, problem solving, and Web 2.0 tools. Data were collected through semi-structured interview forms prepared separately for students and parents after the implementation. Findings indicate that the Hârezmî educational model enhances students’ awareness of group work, problem solving, digital tool use, and peer bullying. The model is seen not only as an instructional practice but also as a reflection of systematic thinking in contemporary education. Moreover, it is reported to be effective in addressing peer bullying and strengthening school–family interaction. The study addresses awareness in terms of knowledge, moral development, and digital representation.
