Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy
1. Purpose and Scope
This policy defines the ethical principles and responsibilities regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic writing, data analysis, translation, language editing, and visual production. The journal adheres to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Authorship and AI Tools Guidelines (2023) and promotes transparency and accountability in the use of AI-assisted technologies in research and publication.
2. Authorship and Responsibility
AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, DALL·E, Midjourney, etc.) cannot be listed as authors and do not qualify for authorship. All ethical, scientific, and legal responsibility for the content of a manuscript lies solely with the human author(s). The use of AI tools does not remove or diminish the authors’ intellectual contribution, analytical responsibility, or interpretive accountability.
3. Disclosure Requirement
If AI tools were used in the preparation of a manuscript—whether for writing assistance, data organization, language improvement, or idea generation—this must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript. The disclosure should appear in the Acknowledgments or Methods section using a format similar to the example below:
Example: “The authors used ChatGPT (OpenAI, 2025) to assist in improving the language and structure of the manuscript. The authors reviewed and approved all generated content.”
Full transparency regarding the use of AI is mandatory. Undisclosed AI use constitutes a breach of publication ethics.
4. Content Accuracy and Source Verification
All content, data, and references produced or suggested by AI tools must be verified by the authors.
-
The use of fabricated, falsified, or inaccurate references is strictly prohibited.
-
Authors remain responsible for ensuring that images or figures generated using AI tools (e.g., DALL·E, Midjourney) are original and ethically acceptable.
-
The journal does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or originality of AI-generated materials.
5. Use of AI in Peer Review and Editorial Processes
Editors and reviewers must not use AI tools to analyze, summarize, or evaluate confidential manuscript content. All editorial and peer review decisions must be based solely on human expertise.
According to COPE guidelines, uploading confidential review materials into AI systems constitutes an ethical violation.
6. Misconduct and Sanctions
Violations of this policy will be addressed in accordance with COPE’s procedures for ethical misconduct.
Examples of violations include:
-
Failure to disclose AI use,
-
Submission of AI-generated or fabricated data or references,
-
Use of AI tools to process or share confidential peer review materials.
Depending on the severity of the violation, manuscripts may be rejected, retracted, or subject to author submission restrictions in future issues.
7. Final Provisions
This policy aims to preserve academic integrity and the credibility of scholarly communication.
The journal reserves the right to update its AI policy in line with future COPE recommendations and developments in ethical publishing standards.
